Interview by university

The Bond interview, and how to prepare for it.

Bond University interviews as an MMI. This page is what is particular to Bond: the shape of the interview, when it falls, who is invited and what the school says it marks. The method for the format is on its own page, linked below.

Not used.
Other tests
Psychometric testing online, a personality test and an emotional intelligence test, which decides who is interviewed.
Who is invited
Academic results first, then the psychometric tests. Bond does not use UCAT.
When
March, after the psychometric round.
Invitations, 2027 entry
26 February 2027, after psychometric testing from 12 to 17 February.
Interviews, 2027 entry
9 to 12 March 2027, online, for the 2027 intake, which starts in May or September.
Offers, 2027 entry
23 March 2027, in QTAC Round 1, then direct offers from Bond from 5 April.
What they say they mark
General suitability to medicine and preparedness for a demanding course. Bond says the interview cannot be prepared for and that it does not endorse preparation services.

Reported, not published. Some coaching sites report that the 2026 round ran as a panel interview rather than an MMI. Bond does not say either way, so this page keeps the MMI until the school confirms otherwise.

Checked against bond.edu.au (opens in a new tab) on 3 October 2026. Dates from the school's key dates (opens in a new tab). Thresholds and dates move between cycles, and the school's own page for this year is the one to trust. Every school's dates.

When will I hear back from Bond?

Offers for 2027 entry: 23 March 2027, in QTAC Round 1, then direct offers from Bond from 5 April. The offer is the answer. Bond publishes no date for telling you how the interview went, so hearing nothing in between is normal.

Every school's offer dates, and why the wait is so long.

My note on Bond

Bond says its interview cannot be prepared for. I would put it differently: it cannot be scripted, and it should not be. You can know why you want this and be able to say it plainly. You can also have thought about the hard questions before someone asks them. That is the preparation I do.

Preparing for an MMI

Each station is marked on its own, so the two skills that matter most are reading the prompt for what it is really asking and leaving a bad station behind in its room. Both can be practised, and both are what the stations on this site are for.

What to work on

Bond publishes “general suitability to medicine” among the qualities it assesses. These are the marking domains that covers, and the ones its stations most often turn on.

Expect to be asked why Bond in particular. How to answer “why do you want to study here?”
