Offers

When you hear back after a medicine interview.

When each undergraduate-entry medical school makes its offers for 2027 entry, and why there is usually a long silence first. Checked on 27 October 2026 against each school's own pages and its admissions centre's key dates.

Why the wait is so long

At most schools the interview is one part of a ranking, beside your ATAR, your UCAT or both. The ranking cannot be finished until final results are in, and ATARs come out in mid December: on 16 December 2026 in NSW and the ACT, and on 10 December in Victoria. Offers then go out through the state's admissions centre on its own fixed days.

So a November interview and a January offer is the usual shape, not a sign that anything has gone wrong.

Hearing nothing is normal

  • The offer is the answer. The schools on this page publish an offer date, not a date for telling you how the interview went.
  • Your preference order still counts. Each admissions centre takes changes of preference until shortly before each round. For UAC's January Round 1 that is 29 December 2026.
  • There are later rounds. UNSW makes offers again on 21 January and 4 February, Monash in a second January round, and Curtin on 20 January, as places are declined.
  • Keep your other interviews in view. Several schools are still interviewing in January, and Bond not until March.

If the offer does not come

It is not the only way into medicine. Graduate entry after another degree is a well-worn route, and some students apply again the next year. The pathway planner draws both, year by year.
