Reported, not published. Until the 2026 intake this was the Joint Program in Medicine with Western Sydney University. From 2027 entry Charles Sturt runs its own program. The admissions process looks the same as before: UCAT, an ATAR threshold and an MMI in late November.
Checked against charlie.csu.edu.au (opens in a new tab) on 3 October 2026. Dates from the school's key dates (opens in a new tab). Thresholds and dates move between cycles, and the school's own page for this year is the one to trust. Every school's dates.
When will I hear back from Charles Sturt?
Offers for 2027 entry: 8 January 2027, in UAC’s January Round 1. The offer is the answer. Charles Sturt publishes no date for telling you how the interview went, so hearing nothing in between is normal.
Every school's offer dates, and why the wait is so long.
My note on Charles Sturt
Charles Sturt is the rural program. Expect the stations to ask why you want to train and work outside a city, and expect the interviewer to mean it. If your honest answer is that you do not, this is the wrong preference to put first.
Preparing for an MMI
Each station is marked on its own, so the two skills that matter most are reading the prompt for what it is really asking and leaving a bad station behind in its room. Both can be practised, and both are what the stations on this site are for.
What to work on
Charles Sturt does not publish a list of qualities. These are the marking domains its stations most often turn on.
- Empathy and perspective-taking In a role-play, do you notice how the other person feels before you try to solve their problem?
- Motivation for medicine Is your reason yours, is it specific, and does it survive the follow-up question?
Expect to be asked why Charles Sturt in particular. How to answer “why do you want to study here?”
