Interview by university
The UWA interview, and how to prepare for it.
University of Western Australia interviews as an MMI. This page is what is particular to UWA: the shape of the interview, when it falls, who is invited and what the school says it marks. The method for the format is on its own page, linked below.

- What they say they mark
- The university does not publish a list of attributes for the MMI.
Reported, not published. Coaching sites report that the interview is worth half the final ranking for non-rural school leavers.
Checked against uwa.edu.au (opens in a new tab) on 3 October 2026. Thresholds and dates move between cycles, and the school's own page for this year is the one to trust. Every school's dates.
When will I hear back from UWA?
Offers for 2027 entry: Through TISC, on its timelines. UWA names no round or date. The offer is the answer. UWA publishes no date for telling you how the interview went, so hearing nothing in between is normal.
Every school's offer dates, and why the wait is so long.
My note on UWA
A long circuit is tiring, and the station you have just left is the one most likely to spoil the next. Practising the reset between stations is worth as much as practising the stations.
Preparing for an MMI
Each station is marked on its own, so the two skills that matter most are reading the prompt for what it is really asking and leaving a bad station behind in its room. Both can be practised, and both are what the stations on this site are for.
What to work on
UWA does not publish a list of qualities. These are the marking domains its stations most often turn on.
- Self-awareness When you talk about a failure, is it a real one, and do you know what it taught you?
- Teamwork Can you describe a time you were not the leader, and what you did instead?
Expect to be asked why UWA in particular. How to answer “why do you want to study here?”
Question themes to know for UWA
Stations to run first
These cover the areas UWA says it marks, or the areas its stations most often turn on. Thirty seconds to read each question, two minutes to answer it out loud.
